How Proud "Pick Mes" Propel The Manosphere's Digital Terrorism
Why won't these people leave me alone?
”Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.” — Michael Corleone
This isn’t going away anytime soon. Yesterday, my attorney received an email from Tieshka Smith’s attorney compelling me to write a statement saying that I would no longer discuss Tieshka’s involvement in my year of digital terror from a self-proclaimed leader of the Black Manosphere or use Tieshka’s images to illustrate the enormous gulf between what she endorses using her legal name and what happens on the Black Manosphere platform she’s appeared on dozens of times over several years using a pseudonym. That is never going to happen.
I will, however, admit to making two factual errors. I stated previously that Tieshka issued a copyright takedown for an image she doesn’t own; I was mistaken.
Additionally, I stated that Tieshka’s website described her as a “podcaster and content creator.” I was wrong. It described her as a “photographer and content creator.” I apologize for the errors.
But I will never take back my feelings that Tieshka Smith is a disgusting hypocrite for her participation in the Black Manosphere and her repeated attempts to use the threat of litigation to deter me from exercising my right to express my opinion on factual events.
Last week, Mark Robinson claimed on another red-pill YouTube channel that I broke the law by noting how Tieshka Smith’s production of content for the manosphere directly undermines the values of her (former?) employer, Networks for Training and Development. Mark claimed I released private information. This is false.
Tieshka’s (former?) employer, Networks for Training and Development, publicly announced Tieshka’s hiring on their Instagram account.
Before that, she appeared on the progressive non-profit’s YouTube channel twice. I found the second video’s description of Tieshka particularly perplexing, considering how often she’d appeared on Mark’s vile, anti-Black, misogynistic platform.
Tieshka is a Philadelphia-based photographer and content creator who uses the tools at her disposal to challenge and disrupt the status quo. She is a writer, storyteller, muse, and a gentle prodder who encourages us to think deeper, not just about inequities and social justice, but also about our truer selves, our hidden parts, our foibles, our quirks. Her social media and blog posts push us, her photography stimulates us, and her very being seems to rock us slightly off kilter in all the right ways. Enjoy this time to get to know Tieshka Smith
But you don’t have to take my word for it. I encourage y’all to research Tieshka’s interviews, content, and creative work and decide if you believe these things can be comfortably reconciled with her position as a Queen of the Black Manosphere. (Her partner of 15 years says he’s a “king.” That would make her a queen, right?) Let me know in the comments.
I find this saga to be both embarrassing and morally reprehensible. Mark and Tieshka should both be deeply ashamed. Middle-aged people should know that the only way to ensure people don’t discuss your unconscionable behavior publicly is not to do it.
To be clear, I am still working on a long-form expose on Mark’s nearly decade-long record of harassing Black women online, a record he does not deny. It’s taken a lot longer than expected. Every day, people send me more blog posts, podcasts, and video evidence of his sick obsession with tormenting Black women he dislikes.
